Susan Mondik Key has been a partner at Peacock Keller since 2003. Susan’s practice is devoted to estate planning and administration, estate litigation and elder law issues.  A substantial amount of her time is devoted to issues affecting the elderly and special needs individuals.  Susan is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Susan also serves as special counsel to taxing authorities, litigating tax assessment appeals before the Board of Assessment Appeals, the Courts of Common Pleas and Appellate Courts.  She has been a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on such topics as “Fundamentals of Estate Administration” and “Non-Profit Law.”

Susan is active in the Washington County Bar Association, where she held the offices of  President (2018),Secretary, Treasurer, Young Lawyer’s Division President, and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Washington County Bar Foundation.  Susan has also held various leadership positions within the Pennsylvania Bar Association where she served on the PBA Board of Governors (2003-2006), as a member of the House of Delegates and as a Young Lawyer Zone Chair.  She also served on the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Editorial Board, Rules and Calendar Committee, and Task Force on Representation.  Susan was also a Trustee of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation.

In September 2005, Susan was appointed as a Hearing Officer for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.  She presided for several years as Chairperson over several attorney disciplinary hearings in Western Pennsylvania. 

Susan is a Washington County native.  She graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in 1986 double-majoring with a B.A. in English and Economics, and from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1989.  She also completed a semester at American University, Washington, D.C. as part of an Economic Policy Seminar. 

She is a member of the Church of the Covenant, Washington, Pennsylvania, where she is an ordained elder and served on its Session, Board of Trustees, Ministry Team, and chaired its Endowment Committee.  Susan participates in numerous community activities, having served on the boards of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce (Chairperson, 2011), the Washington Hospital Foundation, and several non-profit organizations.  Susan and her husband, Abraham Key, the CEO of Pony Baseball, Inc., reside in East Washington and have two children, Casey and Lincoln, and served as a host family for many international students.
