Janine E. Smith graduated, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Political Science.
After receiving her undergraduate degree, Janine continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 2007. During law school, Janine interned with the City of Pittsburgh Law Department. She was also employed as a law clerk for a small legal practice.
After law school, Janine was employed as an Allegheny County Assistant District Attorney, where she handled the prosecution of hundreds of matters, including jury and non-jury trials and appellate matters. Janine then worked as an Associate attorney for a Pittsburgh law firm, where her practice focused on civil litigation and the representation of indigent criminal defendants. As a member of Peacock Keller’s Litigation Department, Janine will continue to focus her practice on civil litigation.
She is admitted to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District Court of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, as well as the Allegheny and Washington County Bar Associations.
